Dear Mr Syunsuke Doi,
My heartfelt condolences go over to you and your family. I can understand how terrible it feels to have lost your loved ones.
Recently, I read on the newspaper that an 8.9 magnitude earthquake had hit Japan. The earthquake also triggered a tsunami which killed even more people. I also heard that there were also a lot of people missing. Even though mankind has become stronger over the years, this crisis shows that we must respect the power of mother nature, as we are ultimately useless against a disaster of this scale.
Mr Doi, you must stay strong, and not lose hope. Once hope is lost, all is lost. The people of Japan has faced disaster after disaster, war after war, and still survived and become one of the most powerful nations in the world. Look at how Japan pulled through the devastation of World War 2 and the dropping of the atomic bombs, which left millions dead. I am sure you will be able to go through this crisis with no problems at all. Already, the whole world is sending basic necessities and rescue teams in to Japan. This shows that we all care about you and you are not alone in this. Aid is coming your way, Mr Doi, don’t worry, life will soon go on as normal.
Singapore, the place I live, is a place with no natural disasters. This incident in Japan has made me realise how lucky I am. Even though I am still young, I am willing to help you and the other citizens of Japan to rebuild and recover.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen Sun
